EVENTS COMING UP

Venue Hire

WITH its links to the fashion, technology and creative sectors, Hackney has become a favourite location for  organisations and individuals planning events with a difference.

The borough boasts a wide range of Council-run venues from Art Deco town halls to RIBA award-winning buildings, all available for weddings, parties, conferences, product launches, away days and other events. These venues all have in-house teams to help plan and deliver events and are listed below with links to more information.

Hackney also has a wealth of private venues among its myriad bars, restaurants and clubs that hire out everything from a room for a birthday party to warehouse space for a fashion shoot or pop-up restaurant. Even stunning spaces like St-John-at-Hackney church and The Round Chapel can be hired for music festivals and community events.

90 Main Yard

90 Main Yard is a collection of creative spaces which are predominantly music/recording studios, plus workshops that are home to creative enterprises such as a vintage clothing brand and an events company. There is also co-working office space on the top floor available in flexible monthly memberships and a very large space known as Studio M where a variety of activities occur including photo shoots, rehearsals, yoga, capoeira, adult tap and aerial trapeze classes.

Annexed

ANNEXED, which was founded in Hoxton in 1994, provides studios and work space for Hackney's artists and designers. Split between two sites in the borough, Zero in Belfast Road, N16, focusses on fashion, product design and media.

Hackney Picturehouse

Hoxton Hall

ONE of East London’s longest-running community arts initiatives, Hoxton Hall has a colourful history, which is intertwined with the life of the borough. It was built in 1863, by architect James Mortimer 'with the specific object of affording the humbler classes an entertainment that shall combine instruction with amusement’.
