Based in Clapton, it shows support to the surrounding community with photo exhibitions, readings, concerts and other social events.
BUILT in 1797 as the place of worship for Hackney's rapidly growing population, St John-at-Hackney church is also a community hub and live music venue. On weekends it hosts Hackney Homemade Food Market in its grounds, and in 2011 and 2012, was the venue for Mencap's series of charity fund-raising concerts - the Little Noise Sessions - featuring performers including Elbow, Goldfrapp, Ed Sheeran, Noah & The Whale and Gary Barlow.
