Hackney City Farm is a great day out for all ages

Family

HACKNEY is London's youngest borough with the highest concentration of under-fives in Europe. It’s a fantastic place for a family visit, with a wide range of activities for children of all ages.

The borough's beautiful parks have state-of-the-art play facilities; Hackney Museum offers free, interactive fun; and there are a whole host of family friendly attractions and businesses right across the borough.

Stoke Newington is Hackney's 'nappy valley', with its beautiful children's boutiques and 'babyccino' cafe culture, not to mention Clissold Park – a paradise for little people, with sandpits and fountains, play equipment, a deer enclosure and butterfly tunnel. There’s also a skate park for older children and teenagers.

Hackney City Farm in Haggerston is a perennial favourite; and Hackney Empire has regular family shows, including its much loved Christmas panto.

For active families, how about an outdoor swim at the Olympic-sized, heated London Fields Lido; a sailing or kayaking session at West Reservoir Centre; or canoe hire along the River Lea?
