Win tickets to see the English Touring Opera at Hackney Empire

THE English Touring Opera brings a feast of entertainment to Hackney Empire with a focus on storytelling through ‘bel canto’ (beautiful singing).

Così fan tutte, Mozart’s comedy of innocence and experience, tells the story of old fiancés seperated and new fiancés found in one day. Paul Higgins’ funny and satirical production, showing from 2 to 7 March on this East London theatre's stage, arguably boasts Mozart’s most perfect opera score.

Next is Verdi’s Simon Boccanegra, on 8 March, an intimate drama that takes place in 14th century Genoa and represents an impassioned plea for Italian unity.

The Siege of Calais, on 9 March, asks ‘what is it that a citizen owes to his city or country?’ Donizetti’s rarely performed epic, directed by James Conway, tells the story of the 'burghers' of Calais, citizens who offer up their lives to save their city from the besieging English army. Prices range from £32.50 to £10.

For a chance of winning a pair of tickets to Cosí fan tutte on 7 March, send an e-mail titled 'ETO competition' to info@destinationhackney.co.uk. Competition closes on 26 February.
