Shoreditch food festival to raise money for Action Against Hunger

A WEEKEND-long celebration of food is set to bring top chefs and food producers to Red Gallery, Shoreditch.

TOAST will feature debates, workshops, tastings, book signings and an after party at the Rotary Bar and Diner from 1 to 2 June. It will also raise funds for international humanitarian aid organisation Action Against Hunger.

Talks include how to start up a street food business by Kerb; what makes a good restaurant (with Tom Adams of Pitt Cue Co and Jonathan Downey of the Rushmore Group); urban foraging; choosing wine; food photography; and the art of toasting by Bompas and Parr.

Street Kitchen will create a menu for the festival using sustainable ingredients directly sourced from farms, while Ice Kitchens will offer artisan lollies in traditional and more modern flavours including roasted peach and pink mojito.

Plus Material Gallery is curating an exhibition with artists including Crispin Finn, Steph von Reiswitz, Andy Smith, Nick Morley, Marcus Walters and Karolin Schnoor.

The festival is free to enter, with tickets to talks starting at £10. Visit the TOAST website for more info.
