Sunday Wireless festival tickets on hold for host borough residents

RESIDENTS have another chance to get this summer’s hottest tickets and see Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake share the stage at Wireless Festival.

More tickets have been reserved for residents of the London 2012 host boroughs, after the line-up for a third day of the live urban music festival at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park was announced this week.

Headline sets from Timberlake on 12 July, and Jay-Z on 13 July, have already sold out. But now the international superstars have revealed they are joining forces to preview their ‘Legends Of The Summer’ US stadium tour at Wireless on 14 July.

They will be supported by hip-hop pioneers A Tribe Called Quest, in what will be their first UK show in 20 years; Nas; New York rapper A$ap Rocky; and Rizzle Kicks.

Wireless festival is moving from its former home in Hyde Park to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park – a third of which is in Hackney.

Residents of the London 2012 host boroughs can be the first in line to get tickets as part of a post Games deal made by London Legacy Development Corporation, in partnership with local councils and music promoter Live Nation, which is organizing the event.

Tickets are now on sale. But be quick, tickets for host borough residents to see Jay-Z perform at Wireless on 14 July sold out in just six hours.

They are priced £75, plus booking fee. Look out for the resident tickets link on the tickets page on Friday. You will be asked to enter the first part of their postcode, which is case sensitive, to confirm you live in Hackney.
