Hackney House unveils future of Olympic Park

A POP-UP exhibition at Hackney House will display plans for the future of the Olympic Park from 3 to 4 September.

The show includes a virtual bike ride through East Village, which is currently the Athletes Village; a giant interactive cube that tells the story of the Olympic site’s regeneration; and replica models of the park's future layout.

Artist Gerd Sedelies will also present his paintings of the Olympic Park and Hackney Wick made during the regeneration of the area.

‘The place, the community, the future’ also features a community and business conference that includes a presentation by iCity, the tech company set to takeover the Olympic Park press and broadcast centres, as well as education providers like Birkbeck, Loughborough University and Hackney Community College.

Hackney House is a pop up event space in Shoreditch created to showcase the borough’s cultural and economic offer during and after the 2012 Games. So far singer Paloma Faith, comedian Hardeep Singh Kohli, and grime star Wiley have performed there.

'The Place, the community, the future’ takes place on 3-4 September at Hackney House, 186 Shoreditch High St, E1 6HU. For more info, visit: www.hackneyhouse.org
