Shoreditch Festival to showcase local talent

THE 11th annual Shoreditch Festival is set to open with a magnificent display of pops, locks, krumps and pooches.

Confused? If keeping up with street dance terms makes your head spin, let the professionals show you how it’s done as they showcase some of hip hop’s most complicated moves at a Hoxton street party.

The Barbican adds to the festivities with folk music and drumming workshops, and superstar ballroom DJ Mr Wonderful gets behind the wheels of steel.

Other events taking place during the community festival include the popular Shoreditch Bark Show for the borough’s best pooches, live performances along the Regent’s Canal, a food market and a multi-sports competition in Shoreditch Park where young people from across the borough's schools can try different activities.

Shoreditch Festival takes place from 14 to 22 July at various locations in Hackney.
