Rudimental to judge inter-continental talent show

HOMEGROWN chart toppers Rudimental are to judge a talent show at Hackney Empire – with a prize that includes performing at one of the world's most famous music halls.

Hackney’s Rudimental hit number one in the iTunes UK chart, and a top 10 place in the national charts, in May with drum and bass smash hit ‘Feel The Love’. The quartet is now looking to support emerging local artists in a transatlantic talent search.

On 8 June, four acts will be chosen to represent the UK in the grand final of 'Hackney vs Harlem'. The following month, on 14 July, local finalists will compete against young contestants from the Apollo Theatre in Harlem, New York. Other prizes include coaching from Rudimental members and performing a set in the New York music hall.

The band takes a keen interest in working with young people. Group member Piers Agget said: “It’s close to our hearts, we were like these kids.”
