Street Feast sets out stall

A FRIDAY night food market has set out its stall permanently in Hackney – although it is keeping the new location under wraps for now.

Street Feast decided to put down roots after nine weeks nesting at Thames House, E8, as a pop-up site.

In its current form, the weekly market features a selection of food, craft beer, cocktails, ping-pong and live street art through the evening till midnight.

According to organisers, it has introduced table service, where ravenous diners can book in advance and try out food from across the market. Fodder includes wild game, South Asian style vegetable burgers, Jamaican and Bajan food, sorbets and barbecued fish.

Dominic Cools-Lartigue, from Street Feast, said: “London has amongst the best nightlife in the world, and also has a growing culinary respect, however it seems strange that we don't have any night food markets, and that is something we at Street Feast are looking to change.”

The next pop up market takes place on 31 August from 5pm to 12midnight. It's set to move to its permanent home in September. For more, visit: www.streetfeastlondon.com
