Hackney Wick community festival returns

HOT on the heels of London 2012 comes the sixth annual Hackney Wick Festival – a free, two day community event of arts and crafts stalls, entertainment, delicious foods, and a new sporting twist to mark the Olympic year.

Taking place over the weekend of 15 and 16 September, at various locations across the Wick, the festival aims to celebrate East London’s creative quarter and its proximity to the Olympic Park.

The fun-packed programme caters for young and old alike, including dance and theatre performances; art and design shows; live music; sports; market stalls and workshops.

Children’s activities include the Albion kids show; face painting; drama; dance and pottery. Adults can enjoy live music from Oxjam; belly dancing; food stalls; and vintage goods.

Hackney Wick Festival is supported by the Council, Big Local, local businesses and housing associations.
