Hackney House hits second week

CIRCUS and trapeze acts, an opera show, and folktronica artist James Yulli have all been booked to play at innovative pop-up venue Hackney House.

Now hosting its second week of free, live entertainment, Hackney House has already seen Paloma Faith, Dalston Superstore DJs and The Guillemots grace its stage. Borough hero Labrinth is set to play on 10 August, however tickets have already sold out.

Hackney House has been set up by the Council, with support from UK Trade and Investment, and is funded by private sponsorship.

The stunning space is designed to showcase the borough’s business and cultural offering during the Olympic Games. In addition to performances by top music stars, the venue has hosted a series of networking events for specific industries including fashion and technology. Big screens are also prominent across the 1,000sqm area to ensure visitors keep up to date with London 2012 sport.
