Love Music, Hate Racism festival at Rich Mix

LOVE Music, Hate Racism (LMHR) takes over Rich Mix to host an exhibition of iconic anti-racism posters and memorabilia throughout September.

Artwork from Rock Against Racism (LMHR’s spiritual predecessor), which promoted concerts and events to combat prejudice, as well as supporting other anti-Fascist organisations, will be on display at the East London cultural venue.

In addition, for its 10th birthday LMHR is staging a party featuring musicians, speakers and comedians at Rich Mix on 15 September. Highlights include guest appearances from comedian Mark Steel, Babyshambles bassist Drew McConnell, The Specials founder Jerry Dammers, documentary filmmaker Don Letts, and the Independent on Sunday Pink List chart-topper Elly Barnes, who is a teacher at Stoke Newington School.

Panel discussions, poetry events and film screenings will also take place.

The Love Music, Hate Racism exhibition takes place at Rich Mix until 30 September, with an all day performance on 15 September. Tickets start at £3. For more info, visit: www.richmix.org.uk
