Digital Shoreditch Festival 2012 has big plans

DIGITAL Shoreditch has big plans: to become as significant as South by Southwest, one of the largest multi-media festivals in the world.

Within four years, the Shoreditch event aims to rival the famous US technology, music and film conference, while continuing to nurture East London’s creative talent.

The ambitious festival kicks off a two-week programme, from 21 May to 1 June, by celebrating the outstanding creative, technical and entrepreneurial talent of East London. It will highlight the digital talent of Shoreditch and beyond to showcase local companies and individuals.

Those interested in animation, art, marketing, advertising, gaming, web design, television, social media, film, graphics, architecture, product design or mobile technology can find inspiration in the many events on offer.

Highlights include a day for young people aiming for a digital career; a look at the next big ideas in technology; games; startup advice; an exploration of human interaction in the digital world; and the announcement of the winner of the Hackney Council-backed 'Race for Apps' competition.
