'100% London' tells the capital's story

THE capital is made up of many and various faces. A new, innovative theatre production, '100% London',  acquainted London audiences with another 100 of the city's 7.5 million faces through a living, breathing – and even mooning – portrait of the city.

Presented by London International Festival of Theatre and Hackney Empire, it begins with the casting of one person, who then has 24 hours to recruit another of specific age, gender, location and ethnicity and so on, until a cast consisting of 100 members of the public takes to the stage.

The participants are asked about various aspects of their lives, habits and beliefs. The results are then animated over 90 minutes in a series of human opinion polls, interspersed by personal vignettes and stories, with shocking, bewildering and often infuriating results.

If nothing else, ‘100% London’ will prove however diverse or surprising the London you thought you knew was, reality is stranger still.
