Hackney restaurants offers a range of foods from around the world

Restaurants

HACKNEY'S ethnic and cultural diversity means that you can take a gastronomic tour of the globe without leaving the borough, and often at very reasonable prices, if you opt for the many establishments that serve a street food inspired selection of dishes.

Restaurants vary from a host of Vietnamese kitchens each dishing up delicious regional fare, to Middle Eastern cuisine at traditional open charcoal grill (ocakbasi) restaurants, served up by Hackney’s Turkish and Kurdish population, which is the largest in the UK.

Shoreditch, on the borders of the East and the City, also houses some well established high-end restaurants like the Conran group's Boundary, Shoreditch House, Rivington Grill, and Jamie Oliver's Fifteen, all serving exquisite cuisine from impressive locations.

The borough’s streets are brimming with independent restaurants offering flavours from all over the world, whether you’re looking for Eastern, Western, locally-grown, traditional East-End pie and mash or the very fancy, you’ll find it here.
